Framer CMS is a powerful feature that allows you to easily manage and update dynamic content without needing to dive deep into coding. Whether you're managing a blog, portfolio, or product page, Framer CMS makes editing your content straightforward and efficient.
Access the CMS Editor
To begin, open your project in Framer and locate the CMS panel. This can usually be found in the left sidebar of the editor under the "CMS" section. The CMS houses all the collections you've created, whether it’s for blog posts, projects, products, or other dynamic content.
Choose the Collection to Edit
Within the CMS panel, you’ll see a list of collections. Collections are essentially groups of content (e.g., Blog Posts, Portfolio Projects, Testimonials). Click on the collection you want to edit, and you’ll be shown a list of all the existing entries in that collection.
For example, if you’re editing blog posts, click on the "Blog" collection to access the list of posts. Each entry represents a single blog post that can be edited.
Edit Existing Entries
Once inside a collection, you can either edit an existing entry or add a new one. To edit an existing entry, simply click on the item you wish to change.
In the entry editor, you’ll see fields corresponding to the dynamic content in your Framer project. These fields could include:
Title: The name of your entry (e.g., the blog post title).
Body: The main content area where you can input text, links, and other media.
Image: Upload or replace images for your content.
Tags/Categories: If your collection has a tagging or categorization system, you can edit or add them here.
Simply modify any of these fields as needed, and your content will update automatically once published.
Add New Entries
If you’re looking to add new content (e.g., a new blog post), click on the "Add New Entry" button at the top of the CMS panel. This will open a blank entry form where you can fill in the necessary fields, such as title, text, and images.
Once you’re done, hit "Save", and the new entry will be added to your website. Since Framer uses dynamic placeholders, your new entry will automatically appear in the corresponding section of your site (e.g., your blog or project page).
Use Dynamic Components
Framer CMS relies on dynamic components that pull data from your CMS collections and display them on the site. When you edit a collection entry, the changes you make will be reflected wherever that content is used in your project.
For instance, if your project’s homepage features a section for the latest blog posts, updating or adding a new post in the CMS will automatically update that section, with no need for manual adjustments in the layout.
Publish Your Changes
When you’re happy with the edits, click "Publish" to push your changes live. This will update the content on your website instantly. Whether you're adding a new portfolio project or tweaking an existing blog post, the process is seamless with Framer CMS.
